Student Governor propaganda

As part of my campaign for student governor, I was given a strict budget of £5 to enhance my campaign.

With this, I:
- Printed on the two t-shirts provided with free textile inks and printed positives - (16p print positives)
- Made 48 badges using free scrap wood, paint from the studio, badge backs, and a piece of acetate as a template - (£1.99 badge backs, 30p acetate, £1 glue for assembly, 75p PVA for finish)
- Printed accompanying tags for the badges with my main points and information on - (24p paper, 12p print)
Total = £4.56

Manifesto and posters will be printed by the SU

Today I also had the Hustings for my application, where we spoke to the students and were interviewed about what our key principles are. I tried to bear in mind the skills I had learnt from the presentation by Rick Ferguson, which helped me focus on how I was saying my words. Although this was pretty nerve-racking, it was a really essential and informative experience, as I was forced out of my comfort zone to deliver a fairly professional speech, which will definitely be useful in my future career. The feedback I had from my peers was that it was a polished performance, which has really boosted my confidence in public speaking.

I also was pleased with how well my badges were received. I left 24 out on the barriers and they all went within an hour, and since then people have messaged me asking for one and even someone messaged me just to tell me she likes them, which is really amazing to hear.

I will also be wearing my t-shirt for the next week, and although I found out today that my opponents had dropped out, I will still actively campaign, as I think it is a really great opportunity to practice my campaigning skills for the future.
