Since I feel that an important part of the artistic industry is the ability to experiment and find innovative and creative solutions to problems, I think that being able to use wide, ranging resources enables a thriving and sometimes serendipitous approach to visual image making.
- Huge part of the creative industry
- Has a strong 'place' and use, such as advertising
One of the main reasons I chose to study illustration was because I love how it has a practical use within a commercial environment, as it can be quite difficult to create links between practise and industry in art based subjects, but I feel that due to the design elements of the area, illustration fits seamlessly into 'real world' environments through assorted practical applications.
- Part of a contemporary/advancing field
Since illustration has a strong design background, the scope for advancement through various techniques is vast, with the opportunities to update the working tools and processes continually expanding, which I feel is an extremely exciting world to be part of.
Overall, the thing I'm most eager to learn is how I can translate my own personal work into a more applicable, usable format which serves the purpose of informing the audience whilst still retaining a unique and personal feel.
