OUIL402 Introduction: What skills do you think are your strengths?

- Keen eye for cohesive colours

I feel that one of my creative skills is that I am able to effectively select colours which work well together to create a strong but cohesive colour scheme for my pieces. I also love to experiment with the different relationships of colours, such as the complimentary versus the adjacent colours in order to create extremely different themes.

- Very precise in working methods/attention to detail

Another skill which I feel I excel at is the way I approach a project, as I feel that I always put a great deal of care into my working method in order to ensure that the outcomes are successful and precisely how I want them to be. Furthermore, I love to alter and tweak my work at the end until I have the desired outcome, which I feel can be a great asset in some project where attention to detail is key.


- Good regard to composition

One of my favourite tasks in designing a piece is to consider the composition, as I feel it is as important as the piece itself, since the audience will probably first notice the composition, even if only subliminally, before noting the illustration itself. Therefore, I love to think of new, innovative ways to display the required information, which use the available negative space to help balance the piece and create striking compositions.

- Strong dedication and work ethic

Overall, I feel that my greatest strength is my attitude towards work, as even if I'm struggling or not really enjoying the task, I will always work hard to ensure that everything is completed to a high standard before the deadline. I am also very happy to stay late in order to work on projects which need a little more attention, as well as being dedicated to producing work to as high a standard as I am capable.

- A very creative mind!

I feel that one of my strongest skills is the ability to think creatively, finding several different outcomes, whilst still being very true to the intended purpose of the piece, meaning I am able to create unique pieces which effectively and clearly show what the brief intended. I also feel that as I tend to work quite methodologically and logically, my work will definitely get across the intended point, as throughout the process I will continually collate the required assets of the piece in order to stay true to the brief.
