This morning I woke up to the best email ever, from Cathy who runs Anorak magazine, asking me to help at the next Drawing Imaginarium in London this weekend!! I was already supposed to be working in Leeds, but I emailed my boss and explained the situation and she said it was fine, so I'm really, really looking forward to this opportunity!
To me this highlighted how to manage and prioritise my time. I called my mum this morning to talk about it, as once I commit to something I find it really difficult to back out. But I thought this was actually a good exercise in itself, as although it's only a small thing, it's helped me to realise how important these opportunities are, and how I can find a way to make them work.
I absolutely love working with children in a creative way, and think this is a fantastic way to network with other creatives and help me 'get a foot in the door' of practising professionals throughout the whole of second and third year (hopefully!).
