Summer work mega crit

Yesterday we had a 'mega crit' where we looked at the summer work of all of level 5 and 6.

It was a really fantastic opportunity to see the working processes of my peers, as well as meet several of the level 6's and ask them about their experiences of level 5.

Below are the pieces I liked the best out of the sketchbooks:

-I really loved these quaint, quiet drawings, and thought the varied but cohesive colours offer a dynamic but familiar composition
-Also, I really liked the use of media, as they mixed gouache with embroidery, which create a very contrasted finish which I think works well with the small scale of the work

- I thought this print was beautiful, as the simple colours and composition contrast to the busy lines of the turquoise to add depth to the piece
- There is also a strong line of sight present, as the waving lines draw the eye from one corner to the other, right across the content, which makes the audience feel part of the composition

- I like this piece because of the wavering line quality and the bold block colour, which create such a strong presence on the page
- The line of sight of the figure also helps to create a relationship between the audience and the character
