Visiting Lecturer- Kristyna Baczynski

Kristyna's work is very different to mine, and although I really admire her visual language, I thought I wasn't going to learn much from her talk, but I was definitely wrong.

The main thing I learnt, was how much I should value relationships within the creative industry, as it is easy to fall out of touch with people, and I now see them not only as a shame, but potentially a huge missed opportunity!

I also really like how she sells goods other than just prints, such as badges, as I can see this is an avenue I would like to expand my practice into in the future.

NOTES:

Playful but measured

->Likes to set certain restrictions e.g. makes coloured shapes then fills in with character

Thinks in screen print colour terms- again own self limits

Gain contacts and keep them- nice people and relationships can create great opportunities

Think about how working in the industry can benefit own practice

-Multi disciplinary

Making friends and reconnecting with a peer group after uni

Talk to people- you never know who might want to commission you
