Louise Lockhart lecture

We had a lecture in the studio from Louise Lockhart, and since I really admire her work, I was very excited to hear from her.

Notes:

- Only see finished outcomes on websites- process with cut paper- free process
- Collect as many textures as you can- inside of envelopes etc.

'Faites votre marche' - Nathalie Parain

Footprint- Leeds based risograph printers

Go to fairs and sell anything

Authenticity and authorship- self initiated business

Difficult to predict what will sell

She also said she focused on the raw brief for each project e.g. travel soap-> boat on front

I found this talk really inspirational, as she offered a really close analysis of her practice and how she has grown from uni to a well known practitioner!
I would really love to learn more about her personal reflections to her work and what she struggles with, as I can really easily see how my work could transfer into a practice similar to hers.
I went up to her afterwards and she even remembered me from Anorak, which I was really happy about!
