Career Track Tuesday- Work/Life balance

This weeks Career Track Tuesday was really useful to me, as I struggle to gain a good balance between being stressed by workload, and spending time resting and relaxing.

I found it really helpful as it made me realise the importance of placing importance on certain things, and what's important to me. Therefore I will try to timetable myself more this year (Including personal items), and create lists of what is important and when to do it to ensure I stay on top of my work and stress levels.

'What am I thankful for?'
Textiles-> counselling- point of realisation
-Expectations of path compared to reality
Development and changes-don't know what to expect in near future- expansion
-Assess tasks and media-work through and keep on top

Balance means making choices in order to live a meaningful life

-Try to limit amount of 'hate' in life
Ability to say no is important- (Matt and Jamie last year) they are easily accepted, but make sure it is a 'big' no or 'big' yes

Task: Wheel of life- not about everything being equal, it's about being the ideal level- consider gaps- pay attention

Intellectual stimulation = Creativity

Balance is bespoke to you- depends on time of life- what do you want to gain from balance? Work with who you are and what you've got- be gentle on yourself

Worry is the misuse of imagination and time- Retro worry is like bad meditation
Not all good things change the world
If you can't sort it now, worry later

Cash rich or time rich? Decide on balance

You won't love work 100% of the time- find something challenging and hard and fun- work through boredom
Develop work ethic-> Leave a little to start you off?-> Make mini rules and stick to them

Think of material possessions- how much weighs you down?
-Awareness of mess/timetabling-> If you can't sort it now
Reverse bucket list - relish in successes- Self esteem- warms heart, reflect

3 D's- Do it, Delegate it, Ditch it
